Sunset Side Hike

Research Associate Becca and I were out on the west side of Tortugas Mountain this morning, enjoying the beautiful day. Clouds and a jet contrail make the mountaintop look as if it's on fire.

This yucca complex always reminds me of a clown lying on its back.

At the bottom of the photo is the trail we'll enventually return on this morning.

Here we are on that road, close to where it bends around the mountain.

Young ATVers enjoying the beautiful morning; they were smart to wear helmets and to drive at a reasonable speed.
