Desert in Snow 1

Today was the beginning of an odd snow storm that saw warm air coming up from Mexico mixing with a cold front sinking down from the north.  It snowed much of the day, but nothing stuck to paved surfaces--only to the desert earth.  The prediction is for more snow overnight and into tomorrow afternoon.

I must be very naive, or dumb. I didn't know it snowed in the desert (in the US).

Hi Jennifer:

Actually, many people are unaware that it snows in the American deserts on occasion. In 1987 El Paso, Texas (in the northern Chihuahuan Desert) got 22.4 inches of snow.
