Semi-Long Trek into Soledad Canyon

Making an entrada in Soledad Canyon
Caroline (who's visiting from San Francisco), Dr. K, Becca and I did a moderately-long hike into Soledad Canyon this morning, and the weather couldn't have been more perfect.  We walked the high loop trail back to the old homesteader's cabin, then headed due west on the trail that drops steadily down to the parking area.  Along the way we encountered other outdoor enthusiasts (young and old) who were enjoying the beautiful day.  Good exercise on a great outing.

I like the blue and pink shades on the rocks of the old ruin.

Nice images, with some new views. Is Soledad Canyon on the western flank or the eastern flank of the Organs?

Yes, Dr. K, that one's a keeper.

Thanks, Jacqui. It was a very good day to be out and about.

Scott: Thank you, Scott. Soledad Canyon is on the west side of the Organs, about 10 miles from Las Cruces.
