Getting Toasty With It

The cold shoulder
It was already in the mid-40s when Becca and I hit the trail this morning; it was warm enough for me to remove my light jacket after a half mile of hiking.  We're headed for a high of 76F today and near 80F tomorrow.  But a Sunday cold front is supposed to drop temps back into the 60s.  On the final leg of our trek this morning we had the good fortune of meeting Luke and Leia, 10-month-old brother-and-sister Huskies, who were very friendly and loved playing with Becca.  The woman owner said she always had to let the dogs run free for the first part of the hike because they were too energetic to rein in.  I could see that, but they were pretty well behaved for puppies.

That photo of the ocotillo blossom against the blue sky is beautiful. I bet those huskie puppies are adorable.
