The Wind Tunnel Effect

Loggerhead Shrike
This morning's hike was pretty awful due to the persistent, strong wind here in the northern Chihuahuan Desert.  Local meteorologists called for strong overnight winds, but I don't remember Doppler Dave saying the gusts would last throughout the day.  We have a chance for rain later this afternoon, with the possibility of heavy storms in places.  We really need the precip, but we sure could do without these winds.
