T-Day Trip

This and three others:  four shots of Tortugas's western flank
Becca and I did an abbreviated trek this morning so we cold stop at Albertsons to pick up a few supplies for our trip to the high country (where we are now).  It's chillier up here, but the sun is shining brightly.  On the drive to the Sacramentos we noticed slightly hazy conditions that looked like smoke, and we wondered if we're finally getting some of the bad air from the California fires.  Over the past two years we've gotten quite a bit of smoke from fires in other western states.  Hopefully this will dissipate quickly, and we'll have four good days of clear skies here in the mountains.

The dead yucca heads remind me of a character from The Addams Family. It's beautiful up here in the high country.
