Arroyo Extension

Ocotillo
We did a longer version of yesterday's hike this morning with some notable additions.  First, we decided to bushwhack through the grassland over to the large Soaptree Yucca we see every day while trekking down LDR-A.  The four-trunk giant is really something to see close up.

Later, while hiking up the new arroyo we took the left branch and followed it nearly to its head below the Tellbrook/Sonoma Ranch corner.  Then we turned around and retraced our steps until we came to the intersection of the right branch which we took all the way to its source.

From there we climbed the steep hill out of the arroyo to the spot where the upper flatland road meets LDR-A, and we walked along the former back to our CR-V.
