The real embarrassing encounter happened while I was trailing behind the Heelers on our way down Left Branch Arroyo, daydreaming about something or other, when they darted forward after flushing a cottontail from the underbrush a few feet away. The rabbit fled so quickly that Frio and Willow could only stand and stare in disbelief.
It was a beautiful morning for our daily trek. We're headed for a high of 80F today.
