Desert Doldrums

Chihuahuan Desert sand
The doldums I'm talking about refers to the string of 100+ F days we've been having; and it looks as if everyday next week will be 100 degrees or better.  There is a drying trend, though, so the temps won't feel quite as bad as they did when the dewpoint and humidity were high.  Surprinsingly, the mountain has been quite crowded of late.  Every day this past week saw the parking lot at the Sunset Area nearly full.  What's gotten into people?  Are they suddenly concerned about keeping fit on these dog days of summer?

Despite the dryness, the desert is still beautiful, at least in your photos, Packrat.
