What a Relief!

Moseying along
A substantial cloud cover provided a much-needed respite from the heat and humidity this morning.  Because of the clouds and a consistent light breeze Becca and I were able to do a much longer hike than possible over the past few days.  We went about two-thirds of the way around the mountain and back, running into only three people:  Mr. Tacoma, who was just starting for the top of the mountain, and two young women joggers who were circumnavigating Tortugas.
High in the foothills

The first drops of rain on a fallen trail marker

Across a large expanse of Chihuahuan Desert

Tortugas Mountain (left) and the Organ Mountains

I think we go this-a-way

At last, the Ocotillos are leafing out

Clearing skies

Cumulus Clouds could spell rain later on

Just try catching me in here
