Hike First, Vet Later

Yuccas and the Organ Mountains
We did our normal hike this morning:  down LDR-A arroyo, east on the narrow trail to the new arroyo, up the left branch and then the right branch, and eventually up the right branch and out on the steep hill next to the upper flatland road.

After returning home I had to take Frio to the vet at 10:00 to have his rear right leg X-rayed to make sure nothing was seriously wrong with it; he had recovered nicely after seven days of Rimadyl, but still favored the leg every once in a while after standing from lying down.

Dr. Julie Gray went over the X-rays with me to show there was nothing wrong with Frio's rear limb; she thinks he sprained his leg while playing ball with me.  She gave me a supply of Glucosamine for him and a provisional 10-day supply of Rimadyl
