Heat is On

Hot desert this morning
It was already quite hot when Willow, Frio and I set off on our morning hike today; we're headed for a high of 95F.  We did our usual trek, and didn't really take note of anything special during our exploration.

Our buddy the Swainson's Hawk was wheeling around on thermals searching for breakfast, but he never landed while we were out there.  Wouldn't have mattered anyway as we weren't about to go bushwhacking to get near him on this Saturday morn.

As we were finishing our outing I saw two people crest LDR near where we used to park the CR-V.  I'm pretty sure it was the woman who tore her meniscus several years ago and her husband.  Haven't bumped into them in ages.

Never got a clear shot of this Ladder-backed Woodpecker
