A Hump-Day Hike

Who made this clock?  (Probably a small rattler)
Dr. K, Willow, Frio and I did our regular hike on this hot morning.  The redeeming feature of the weather, though, was a nice breeze that seemed to come up when we needed it most.

I spotted a jackrabbit and a cottontail the other three hikers never saw; just as well because it might have instigated their chase instinct (excluding Dr. K, of course).

We're almost praying for rain around here.  Apparently the National Weather Service has weighed in and pronounced June 20th as a likely date for the beginning of our yearly monsoon season.

Still smoky out there
