Morning moon |
This morning I had Dr. K keep Willow with her near the middle branch arroyo while I headed up to the badger burrows to see if I could find footprints that might identify which critters are using those holes. I saw some tiny prints that might belong to kit foxes, but I couldn't tell for certain because they were blurred. From the sheer number of holes (6, within a 20' radius) I'll stick with my first guess: they're burrows made by badgers.

Amazing that the Yucca is starting to bloom so early. And the badger dens are fascinating--I wonder if we'll ever get to see one of the badgers.
