Although it was raining this morning,
Dr. K insisted that we go out to do field research. She said it was a test of loyalty to her, and she seemed to suggest that Research Associate Becca and I could be fired if we didn't comply. Dr. K even came along with us to make sure we didn't just go somewhere and sit in the car. Here's a photo to prove how rainy it was.

We got rained on the whole way, and the only thing that seemed to make Dr. K happy was this late-blooming ocotillo.

I'm glad to know who the boss is. I expect lots of pictures from Hurricane Ike. I guess it may not hit you....you are a long way away from Houston.
