Comin' Round the Mountain

On the trail early with Research Associate Becca, we found the cool, breezy weather refreshing. Everything looked new in the morning sunlight, like this view of Tortugas Mountain still partially in shadow.
Creosote bushes have lost their flowers, replaced by these fuzzy round seed balls.
The spent seed pods of these yuccas extend above the plant body.
Petite purple flowers grow amidst a clump of Mormon Tea.
I'm guessing that this is Blackfoot Daisy, but I'm not positive.
