Crazy Weather

A cold front blew through last night (and I mean "really" blew through), and this morning it was rather chilly when we set off on our trek around Tortugas (Tortoise) Mountain.  We're within four days now of tying the record for longest consecutive days without measurable precipitation--not really a record you want to beat--and things don't look hopeful for rain.  I read recently that the normal time for starting irrigation water releases from Elephant Butte Reservoir is February, but this year's release down the Rio Grande has been postponed until May 31st.

That cold front is probably from the brief little rainshowers we just had here in Albuquerque. Not much to brag about, just some last night and the more for around half of today, and boy was it cold this morning! I had hoped some if it had gone your way, but apparently not. D:

Hello Deer

Doe with lemur(?) butt Willow and I encountered a herd of mule deer during her morning constitutional; there were three or four young bucks ...
