It Blows!

Back behind Tortugas Mountain
When Dr. K, Becca and I hiked around the south side of Tortugas Mountain this morning the wind had already started to be an issue.  Later today--between 3 and 9 p.m.--it's supposed to get really ugly.  Doppler Dave predicted winds to 50 mph and higher gusts.  He said Denver could get between 4" and 9" of snow today.  Speaking of snow, when we were leaving the hacienda this morning we saw what could only have been a Snowy Owl taking flight from one of the big pines in the neighborhood.  I'm about 95% sure it was one.  First times I've ever seen one round these parts.
What looked from a distance to be a Red-Tailed Hawk (it wasn't)

Clear skies before the wind
