First to Second Arroyo

Just getting started
The four of us did our usual hike this morning with one additional wrinkle:  when we entered First Arroyo we hiked eastward into it, took a slight water break, and then bushwhacked northeasterly through the desert across to and into Second Arroyo.

The two arroyos aren't separated by a large expanse of desert, but it's something we'd been talking about doing for a while.  It added a bit of excitement to our normal outing.

On the way back, while we climbed LDR-A to get into the high flatland we encountered the woman and dog that previously have caused some consternation for us; but the last few times we've bumped into them the encounter has gone well--as it did today.  There was no excessive excitement from our dogs Willow and Frio.

I like those baby pineapples (aka barrel cactus fruit). And also the red color of the mesquite beans.
