Less Smoky

Mesquite in B&W
Hot this morning, but less hazy from the smoke.  Found out last night that the smoke was coming from fires in the Gila National Forest.  Who can guess how much of the West will burn if we don't get significant precipitation?

The Heelers and I trekked up to First Arroyo today, entered and found a shady spot to drink some water.  Afterward we explored a bit further up the arroyo before turning around and heading back.

First Arroyo
We had a close encounter with a few Black-tailed Jackrabbits near the arroyo, but neither Frio nor Willow wanted to chase.  Too darned hot!
