Hoovering the Desert

Looking northward across the Tellbrook Arroyo
You would have thought Willow was a Hoover the way she vacuumed the desert floor for two-thirds of our morning hike.  I have no idea what scent she was fixated on since we saw no critters.

We took quite a few shade breaks during our outing even though the temperature was in the low-60s.  The sun had such force, though, that it's a real physical presence.  I have no problem stopping in shadows because I don't like being hot, either.

We did our usual hike today:  down LDR-A arroyo, east on the cross trail to the new arroyo, up the left branch, down the middle branch, and then up and out along the right branch, but not before we took a prolonged break at our favorite small mesquite tree.

This & next:  Desert Willow
