Saturday on Tortugas

Just starting out
It didn't surprise us that there were other people enjoying the mountain this morning.  It was slightly overcast and a little cool--perfect for hiking and jogging.  We didn't actually run into anybody, though.  The White-Winged Dove featured in the last image has literally been sitting on a nest in the Mesquite Tree directly behind our house for several weeks now.  Anybody familiar with doves knows they are incredibly flighty, but this altruistic mother-to-be just sits and watches us (Becca, too) as we come and go.  Amazing!
Same Hedgehog as yesterday, now with one flower and several buds eaten

A small Claret Cup Cactus

We'll be on that trail (center) very soon

Here we are

Becca exploring near a very large Torrey Yucca

A real roller coaster road

Cutting across the Crosscut Trail

Relaxing (and looking cute) in the shade
