A Chance of Rain

The beautiful quilt Caroline made for us
The wind was so bad this morning Dr. K, Becca and I went only to the near side of Tortugas Mountain for a moderately long hike.  The air was dust-filled and the wind gusts made for a quite unpleasant trek.  Despite the wind there was a surprisingly large number of people out there battling the conditions.  We have a 40% chance of rain this afternoon, and everybody around here is praying for precipitation.  It is probably the most parched I've ever seen this part of the Chihuahuan Desert.
