Rainy Day Desert

What it looked like out our window this morning
Becca and I got a late start this morning because it was pouring outside.  I had just gone to the patio enclosure to shut the door in anticipation of leaving on our trek when a spear of lightning slashed across the sky, followed by a crash of thunder.  That put our plans on hold for nearly an hour.  When we finally left it was pretty clear to me that we'd probably get rained on out there even though the doppler radar showed clearing weather.  I was right.  Although we didn't get a drenching, we suffered through persistent drizzle and light rain.  Good thing I was wearing my Marmot PreCip jacket and Ex Officio trousers.  Becca's fur, though, got pretty wet; but Dr. K was waiting at home to thoroughly dry her off.

I really like the 2 photos of the puddle on the boulder, with the shiny bits of gold leaves.
