Below Freezing

First 2:  ocotillos and morning moon
The temperature was just below freezing when Willow, Frio and I set off this  morning on the exact same hike we did yesterday.  It felt a bit colder due to the wind, but I was dressed appropriately:  long trousers and long-sleeve shirt, polar fleece layer, polartech jacket, gloves, ear band and cap.  Heelers decided to go with the same outfits they wore yesterday.

Fortunately the sun shone brightly today, so it kept us warm enough during our explorations.  We saw plenty of birds while we were out there, but no ground-dwelling mammals.  Frio and Willow didn't seem too disappointed, but that didn't stop them from trying to spot something.  The colder weather has given both dogs an energy boost, and it's often difficult to keep them in check, but today was a good outing.

Nice photos. My favorite is the second one-- the ocotillos and the morning moon.
