Hummer Fest

This & next:  Soaptree Yucca stalks, old and new
It was quite warm when Dr. K, Willow, Frio and I hit the trail this morning.

Driving to the trailhead we saw the Basset Hounds with their people trekking up Tellbrook Road.  We later saw the crew hiking northward along the ridge west of the Organ Mountains.  By the time they came parallel to us in the Tellbrook Arroyo we were well up the left branch.

Now that the Ocotillos are blooming a load (I think that's the proper term) of hummingbirds has materialized; we can hear and see them frequently.  I was only able to get a photo of one of them, but the bird was quite cooperative.  I hope in the near future to capture an image of one getting nectar from an Ocotillo flower.  I took 49 photos today, but liked only a relative few.  They're posted here.
