Toasty With a Side of Bad Air

Whitethorn Acacia in foreground
It felt like a furnace when Willow, Frio and I stepped out of the CR-V at the trailhead this morning, and it didn't get any better during our trek.  What little breeze there was didn't help because it, too, carried the heat.

We did our normal trek, making sure to take plenty of shade breaks.  Additionally I stopped many times to take countless photos--mostly unsuccessful--of several Swainson's Hawk riding the thermals today.

After the hot hike we were all plenty glad to get back to the cool air at home.
