Our Sunday morning hike today was on the Bar Canyon Trail in Soledad Canyon in the high foothills of the Organ Mountains. The first photo is of the vista at the trailhead.
About a mile up the trail we came upon this Cactus Wren nest nestled in the arms of a blossoming cholla.
We took a quick look inside, but nobody was home.
