What a Day!

First 3:  on the trail west of Tortugas Mountain
Took a brief hike this morning before getting home to greet Scott and his wife, April, who drove down from Santa Fe to bring Frio, the deaf heeler Dr. K and I have been hoping to adopt.  Not only did we get Frio, though, but Jackie, a foster parent of heelers who lives in El Paso, drove up to deliver Willow, another small heeler we adopted.  So we went from no dogs to two dogs.  What a bonanza!  Photos to come later

Both dogs were adopted through Texas Cattle Dog Rescue, an incredible organization.  All of the people we've dealt with during the adoption process have been fantastic.

The rest:  Ladder-backed Woodpecker
