Already Hot, Humid and Windy

2 1/2-foot tall Barrel Cactus
Uncomfortably hot and humid this morning as we all started off from the dirt parking spot near Tellbrook; and, it suddenly got very windy, kicking up sand and dust.  Not a pleasant way to begin a hike.

Because of the conditions we decided to trek down to the major arroyo, hang a right, and head up LDR-A back up to the top of the hill.  We then followed the short spur road to Tellbook, turned and around and went back to our waiting CR-V.

It was a short hike, but it served several purposes:  a bit of exercise for humans and Heelers alike, a chance to get out into the desert, and the opportunity for two dogs to do their business--both #1 and #2.
