Sunny Sunday

Still a little smoky this morning
We're headed for a high of 101F today, and it truly felt it this morning as Dr. K, the Heelers and I did a normal hike in our corner of the northern Chihuahuan Desert.  Although we saw one white SUV parked in the lot at the corner of Tellbrook and Sonoma Ranch we saw nobody else out there during our trek.

A slight breeze at the beginning held the promise of amelioration of the heat, but the minor air turbulence disappeared almost immediately.  You know when you're sweating less than an eighth mile into your outing it's going to be a hot one.

Frio and Willow held up well, though they were eager for the shade cast by trees and yuccas in the Second Arroyo.  We didn't spend much time there today; stayed just long enough to get hydrated and for me to snap a few photos before heading back.
