Jaunt

Single Ocotillo branch growing out of Mormon Tea
Because we got a tardy start this morning--half an hour late--we took only a short jaunt on our daily trek:  down LDR-A, back up LDR-A and a brief detour on the upper spur road.

We saw several people out there this morning including one guy with a dog who was quickly leashed by the man.  No direct encounter, though Willow was eager to get over there for a greeting.

The most notable thing today was the number of gunshots we heard; seemed like quite a few people were out celebrating their labor day holiday by blasting away at targets.  Always a bit unnerving to hear gun enthusiasts expending so much ammunition.

I really like the B & W photo of the Whitethorn Acacia. And the photo of the cute squirrel.
