After Rain

Surreal cloud over the Organ Mountains
Last night's rain left the air saturated with moisture; if that didn't feel bad enough the sun beat down on us while we were hiking.  Add to that misery the omnipresent ants along the trails, and you get the idea that Willow, Frio and I were pretty miserable during the morning trek.

We cut out the middle branch portion of the hike, but nearly went all the way up the left branch before turning around and heading back down to the junction with the right branch.  We literally stopped only once for a seconds-long break before being forced to move along by red and black ants.

Our morning outing was quite the slog.
