Saturday Scorcher

Fishhook Barrel Cactus bud blooming
When Frio, Willow and I set off on our morning trek we immediately felt the hot sun blasting like a coke furnace.  A sporadic breeze didn't help at all.  As soon as we turned up the left branch arroyo from the east/west cross trail I considered abbreviating the hike; but we did the full route nevertheless.

Needless to say we were all more than happy to get back to the air-conditioned comfort of the CR-V.  We took a short ride to continue listening to two sports guys talking about the disaster that befell the PAC 12 conference over the past few days.  The Conference of Champions may cease to exist in the near future;.
