Sierra Vista GPS Hike

GPS track of our hike on Sierra Vista Trail (Norte)
Dr. K, Becca and I got a fairly early start on a morning trek in Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument.  We chose the Sierra Vista Trail (Norte) and hiked from the area of the Soledad Rocks down to the high point that later drops down to Black Mountain.  We chose to cut the trek short at that point and head back in order to ensure that we weren't doing anything too strenuous for Becca; we saw her gimping a few times and we didn't want to chance an injury.

She seems fine now, satisfied with the 2.5-mile hike we got in this morning.  There were other people out on this fine Sunday in the desert, a hiker, several mountain bikers, and, just as we were getting back to the trailhead, a guy hiking with his 12-year-old dog he said was friendly.  The smile on her face when she saw Becca confirmed the man's pronouncement.

The angle of some of these photos show the ruggedness of the Organs, as well as their beauty.
