Cooler Start

Soaptree Yucca and early morning sky
The four of us got a big break at the start of our hike this morning:  the sun was behind clouds and there was a persistent breeze.

The sun did emerge during our outing, and the temperature rose noticeably.  But the sun disappeared periodically and the breeze kept up.  All in all not a bad trek.

Some pleasant surprises were had today:  the unexpected rainbow in the western sky and the Swainson's Hawk who flew nearly overhead while we were taking a shade/water break in the right branch arroyo.

Beautiful photos of the Swainson's Hawk, especially the last one. It was nice to see that rainbow this morning.
