The Serpent


Quite an exciting hike on the west side of Tortugas Mountain this morning. Yuccas were in bloom.

Mesquite trees were leafing out.


Jackrabbit clouds were looming overhead.

And serpents were jangling nerves.


This one is a four-foot Gopher Snake--harmless, but scary looking.
