Cloudcroft, N.M.

Dr. K, Research Associate Becca and I went on a research junket to Cloudcroft this morning, and on the way we spotted an Oryx Gazelle walking alongside the freeway--on the wrong side of the fence. A government worker in a large white pickup was trying to herd the huge animal (400 to 500 lbs.) through a gate and back onto White Sands Missile Range property.

Check out the horns (3 to 4 feet long) on this beautiful specimen.

Becca's ready to go.
