Heat


Before we'd gone an eighth of a mile this morning I had to take off my lightweight jacket because of the heat. Even Research Associate Becca sought out shade.

A lot of the Organ Mountains were still in shadow.

The flora in one of the major arroyo drainages out of Tortugas haven't greened up yet.

The parched desert needs rain.



The long, dusty road toward the Organs in the east.
