Coming Down

Looking through a window at the back 40
We did a forest hike again this morning, went back to the cabin and packed for our return trip to the low desert where we are now.

Another Forest Adventure

Just starting out
We had a terrible windstorm all through the night yesterday, and the wind was still blowing hard this morning; nevertheless Dr. K, Willow and I did our usual forest hike behind the cabin.  Once we were among the trees we were sheltered from the strongest gusts.  Despite the somewhat adverse conditions we made the best of the situation, and, in the process, made Willow happy.  She loves her hikes.

Forest Hike, Cloudcroft Visit

Sacramentos
Dr. K, Willow and I did essentially the same hike as yesterday.  Afterward we drove up to Cloudcroft for some supplies.  Because Family Dollar didn't have any gallons of water we went across the road to Allsup's to buy four gallons.  On the way down the mountain we stopped at the High Rolls General Store and bought four more gallons of water.  The High Rolls gallons were twice as expensive as Allsup's.

Home Run

Sniffing heeler
Dr. K, Willow and I took a hike in the forest behind our cabin this morning; it was a good aerobic workout.  Odd find on our trek:  a baseball that was clearly meant for a dog.  Hard to imagine how it got to the place where we found it:  in the forest on a very steep hill.  The weather conditions for our outing were excellent:  sunny with no wind.
