Ocotillo flowers
Dr. K, Willow and I had a pleasant hike on a morning that felt relatively cooler primarily because of a chilly breeze.  We saw evidence that the Basset family had preceded us down LDR-A, and later we spotted the Pickup-Truck-Lady and her dog hiking south across the ridge far east of us.  Best part of the trek:  getting pics of the Desert Cardinal eating ocotillo flowers; worst part:  trying to photograph a bee feeding on Range Ratany.
This & next 2: female Desert Cardinal eating ocotillo flowers

This & next:  new growth on old prickly pear pads

Range Ratany

What I thought was a digger bee may be a Centris bee

Pathetic example of current blooms in the desert
