Root Canal #2

Dental work precluded an outing to Tortugas Mountain this morning, so I took a few photos around the Chihuahuan Observation Center. Two of the Center's favorite agaves here: Variegated Agave in the foreground, and a Century Plant behind.

Hard to see the arroyo that crosses the Center's grounds, but it's in the center of the photo left to right.

A Blind Prickly Pear; it's flowers closing at day's end; so-called because cattle eating the cactus pads temporarily go blind from the tiny spines.

Desert Willow (left), Creosote Bush (right).
