Chilly Start

Yuccas in the Tortugas Mountain foothills
The thermometer read 32 degrees Farenheit when we set off this morning, but halfway into the hike I was able to remove my gloves.  Plenty of sunshine and little wind always makes it feel warmer than it actually is in the desert.  We saw a few ardent hikers out there, but we had no direct encounters.  All in all a beautiful day in the Chihuahuan Desert.
