Arroyo Primero

This and the next:  Sacred Datura
The four of us encountered two different couples hiking in the desert this morning, both of whom we've bumped into fairly frequently before.  We all exchanged pleasant greetings before the second couple warned us about a rattlesnake they'd seen down by the arroyo.  After they passed by, Dr. K said to me, "I like running into nice people."  It was in reference, I believe, to the abundant number of lunatics who seem to inhabit our world nowadays.

We went into First Arroyo for a short exploration before stopping in a shady spot for water and a brief respite.  Then we headed back the way we had come.

Although there was a consistent light breeze it felt really hot out there today; we're headed for a high of 97F, well above normal. A major cold front is supposed to blow in over the next few days, dropping the temperature by 20 degrees.  Can't wait for the cooler temperatures.
