All About Heat

Spot the observatory
The four of us got a little later start on our morning trek today, but we hiked up to Second Arroyo despite the heat.  We're supposed to reach 95F today.

We saw several hikers way ahead of us on LDR when we started off, but we never saw them again.  They were the only people we noticed in our section of the northern Chihuahuan Desert this fine day.  I say "fine," but we've really tired of the heat.  Supposedly a cold front is expected to blow in during the wee hours Monday morning and lower temps by about 20 degrees.  We'll see.

Willow and Frio seemed to really enjoy their hike today despite the heat; their energy level is high.  How much higher will it be when the weather cools?
