Turpentine Bush? |
From there it was a straight shot back to the waiting Jeep just west of the gate. There were no other vehicles in the parking area upon arrival and departure, and the only people I saw this morning was a guy driving an ATV out near the western flank of Tortugas Mountain.
Midway up the arroyo |
Buffalo Gourd leaves |
Hairy False Goldenaster |
This and the next: not sure who this little guy is |
Some type of flycatcher? |
Looking back the way I just came |
Huge old Ocotillo |
Unusually tall tree |
This and all the hummers: same individual |
I'm going with female Black-chinned Hummingbird |
Gnarly old Ocotillo |
White-winged Dove |
Climbing Milkweed pods and parachute |
This and the next: same Desert Globemallow |
This and the last: got to be a Wilson's Warbler |

Nice photos of that mysterious hummingbird. And it's good to see the blooming Turpentine Bush, a harbinger of Fall.
