Frio and Willow
|
Dr. K, Willow, Frio and I departed from the western barriers at Geothermal Road this morning, hiked half a mile eastward before bushwhacking over to the major arroyo that runs west out of Tortugas Mountain.
We trekked toward the mountain until nearly reaching the north/south crossroad, choosing to bushwhack northeasterly to the dirt road rather than waiting until the arroyo intersected it.
A man and woman who had walked Geothermal to our location stood chatting for a while before turning around and heading back. We let them put some distance between us before following them westward to where we'd parked the CR-V. It was a longer hike than we'd done in a while.

I like the photos of the barrel cactus with a single, last flower.
