Woody and Morning Moon

A once vibrant Soaptree Yucca desiccated by ongoing drought
Dr. K, Willow and I did our usual hike this morning.  The weather conditions were good:  plenty of sun, no cloudiness, not even a breeze.  In fact, it felt a bit warm by the time we finished the trek.

Best part of today's outing was the male Ladder-backed Woodpecker who was flitting around like a flighty dove.  I took a passel of photos of the critter, but only got a few good ones.

Nice images of the Ladder-backed Woodpecker. My favorites are the ones where it's on the dried Yucca pods.
