Research Associate Becca insisted on some research in the field this morning, though nothing really productive came out of it--unless you consider worthwhile this photo of the vista toward the south of Tortugas Mountain.
I wanted to get back to COC to continue my observation of a family of quail that have been frequenting the grounds. Here is a family of mother, father and five chicks in and around one of the irrigation canals eating, I presume, some tasty ants. Insects make up only 5% of the quail's diet, but the ants here at COC are especially delectable.
