Around Chihuahuan Observation Center


We haven't had rain for a bit, and some of the plants around COC are showing it. The limbs of this cholla are drooping from lack of water.

The damage to these prickly pear cacti was done a while back by pack rats.

These little suckers--Variegated Agave kids--will be jackrabbit snacks when the food supply grows scarce.

Even this Blind Prickly Pear cactus is a little droopy from thirst.



Here is it January 16th, and this Rosemary bush is blooming. The bees love it.

Here in the west we just get out the hose and water the plants...but of course our backyard is a little smaller than your backyard...
